REStex: using hieroglyphs within Latex documents

These pages offer a very small but effective solution to embed hieroglyphs within Latex documents. It assumes the Linux operator system. (It has not been tested on Mac OS X at this time.) The hieroglyphic encoding is that of RES.

Instructions for use

  1. Download: restex.tar (31KB; last modification 2015-11-09).
  2. Unpack it in an otherwise empty directory, and follow the instructions in the README file.
  3. These instructions include downloading of PhilologEg and unpacking it in an appropriate directory.
  4. The README file in restex.tar explains how to run a demo.


Some of the technology was inspired by Serge Rosmorduc's HieroTex.
